We get the outside temperature using some interesting technology.
We used the Dallas Semiconductor DS1820 temperature probe. Dallas
Semiconductor's Application note #74 on interfacing with these parts. I used a serial interface
based on the application note known as Digitemp created by Brian Lane at Nexus Computing. The
serial interface is hooked up to 5 of the Dallas Semiconductor devices.
One of them is outdoors in an enclosure designed to provide accurate
